TAKING INFORMATION DIRECT TO VISITORS

A new innovative way of getting visitor information direct to Thanet’s residents and tourists has been launched, taking the information out and about to events in the local area.

The mobile Visitor Information Centre, in the form of a marquee, will tour with staff from the three information centres in Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate, around Thanet’s events. The aim is to ensure that visitors are aware of the area’s 26 miles of coastline, beautiful beaches and bays, interesting attractions, quality accommodation and great variety of bars, cafes and restaurants.

Cllr. Shirley Tomlinson, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services said: “This service is a great addition to the Visitor Information Centres already in Thanet and will enable the team to get out and about to meet local residents and visitors promoting the best of what Thanet has to offer. This will help to promote all our wonderful events and ensure that visitors return to our beautiful area time and time again.”

The mobile Visitor Information Service will be attending the events below.
· Dickens Festival – 20 June
· Margate’s Big Event – 20 – 21 June
· Margate Masters – 27 & 28 June
· Quexpo – 11 July
· Sea Sunday – 5 July
· Thanet Pride – 18 July
· Sound Island Music Festival, Pussycat Dolls and JLS – 25 July
